Compassion is a very popular modern climber. When its flowers first open, they are extraordinarily beautiful: a mixture of salmon pink, apricot and orange, with pink on the upper sides of the petals. They develop from classic Hybrid Tea buds into a pretty, ruffled confection of petals. The flowers are borne singly or in clusters of up to five. The plant has large healthy, glossy, dark green leaves, quite a lot of prickles, and a thick, coarse, upright habit of growth. Strong, sweet, fruity fragrance. Height to 3m.
All the roses we sell have been field grown and lifted when the conditions are at their best. If ordering potted roses, as the plants will not start to put on any more root growth until the spring, please do not be surprised to find the compost fall away from the roots when you take the plant out of its pot. We use a high quality compost so you can incorporate this when you plant your rose.
