...Sublime elegance!

(Saunders 1949). Moonrise is a Saunders hybrid derived from a cross between lactiflora and peregrina. Unusually this produced a peony with single pale yellow flowers which are delightfully fragrant. The foliage is pale green in the style of peregrina. A marvellous and sturdy garden peony which will provide many years of pleasure. An early flowering plant and shorter in stature to just around 70cm, Hightly recommended.
